Job summary

SimplyBiz PLC in Wales is seeking a Full-Stack Python Developer to join the Technology department in Cwmbran. You'll build fintech insurance software and support existing applications.

You will work across Python, Django, SQL and React in a small team, contribute to feature development, code quality, testing, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Python experience and API integrations.
• Strong SQL skills with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Solid front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular).

A key role to help shape the future of a successful insurance fin tech product, part of the wider Defaqto software division.

Within our software division, Comparison Creator powers insurance and price comparison platforms used by well-known UK brands.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a Full-Stack Python Developer to join a small, collaborative team building and supporting fintech products used across the insurance market.

You'll work across the stack using Python, Django, SQL, and React, contributing to both new product development and ongoing application support. This is a hands-on role with real influence over how our products evolve.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain applications using Python and Django
• Work across the full stack, including front-end components (React, JS, CSS)
• Translate business and user needs into practical technical solutions
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices
• Write testable, maintainable code with appropriate unit tests
• Support live applications and troubleshoot complex issues
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business and occasionally with clients
