Job summary

LaraBench is seeking a hands-on Full Stack AI Engineer for an onsite role in Scunthorpe. You will deliver practical software solutions while leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate development and take ownership of projects from requirements to deployment.

Initially, you will work on a PHP/Laravel project, then expand to other internal applications as you progress toward leading AI implementation initiatives across the manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on Full Stack development experience delivering applications independently.
• Proficiency with PHP/Laravel; broader language experience is a bonus.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate delivery.

Full Stack AI Engineer

Up to £65,000 + Progression towards AI Implementation Lead + Medical + Enhanced Pension + 27 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays

Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire (Commutable from: Doncaster, Grimsby, Hull, Lincoln, Gainsborough, Brigg, Goole, Barton-upon-Humber)

Are you a Full Stack Developer using AI coding tools to accelerate development, looking for ownership of projects and the opportunity to shape AI implementation across a major manufacturing business?

This is an opportunity to join a long-established UK manufacturer undergoing a major modernisation programme. You will deliver practical software solutions while developing towards a position leading wider AI adoption across the business.

Initially, you will build and improve internal applications using GitHub Copilot, starting with a PHP/Laravel project. Working from supplied requirements, you will own development, testing and deployment, ensuring your code is secure, maintainable and production-ready.

The business uses a broad range of technologies, so wider software experience and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems will be valued. You will need to understand, challenge and debug AI-generated code, taking responsibility for the finished application.

Longer term, the role offers progression towards AI Implementation Lead, helping shape AI strategy and delivering projects to improve processes, efficiency and performance across the wider business and manufacturing environment.

This role would suit a hands‑on Full Stack Developer who enjoys working independently, can demonstrate effective use of AI coding tools and wants to build towards broader AI implementation responsibility.

The Role:

• Full Stack development using AI tools to accelerate delivery
• Initial PHP/Laravel project, followed by other internal applications
• Own development, testing and deployment from supplied requirements
• Review and validate generated code for security, correctness and maintainability
• Longer-term progression towards wider business and factory AI implementation
• Fully onsite in Scunthorpe, 36.5 hours per week - Mon-Fri

The Person:

• Full Stack development experience, delivering applications independently
• Working knowledge of PHP/Laravel; broader language experience advantageous
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Confident reviewing, debugging and testing AI-generated code
• Interested in progressing towards AI implementation and business strategy
• Commutable to Scunthorpe and happy working fully onsite
