The role

As a Fuel Logistics Operator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will become part of our dynamic team, supporting our Ministry of Defence contract. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering professional driving services and ensuring smooth transport operations.

Day-to-day, you will take pride in maintaining vehicle readiness and safety. The role includes conducting thorough daily inspections, performing fuel quality checks before use, promptly reporting any faults, and ensuring all vehicles are kept clean and presentable to the highest standards.

  • Safely and efficiently refuel a range of aircraft and ground vehicles, ensuring adherence to operational protocols and safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections prior to use, promptly report any faults or issues, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation for all transport assets.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at Shawbury, near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. The role offers36 hours per week on a 52-week fixed-term contract.

Essential experience for the Fuel Logistics Operator:

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of MoD procedures, standards, and operational practices to ensure compliance and effective support within a defence environment.

Qualifications for the Fuel Logistics Operator:

  • Category B/B1 – Standard vehicle operation
  • Category D – Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV)
  • Category C – Large Goods Vehicle (LGV)
  • Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
  • Current Driver Digital Tachograph Card

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
