Job summary

Sembcorp Energy UK is seeking a skilled Wood Fuel Handling Operator to support the Wilton 10 boiler and its fuel supply chain. You will operate fuel handling plant, manage deliveries, samples and stock, and contribute to safe, compliant operations in a busy power site.

Based at Wilton International, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring quality fuel supply, routine checks, and timely communication with maintenance and operations colleagues.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent trade‑specific qualification.
IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety awareness training
Relevant mobile plant, site induction and operational training appropriate to the Fuel Handling area.

Responsibilities

Safely operate fuel handling plant, mobile plant and associated equipment to maintain reliable fuel supply to Wilton 10.
Manage fuel deliveries, collections, weighbridge activity, stock control and associated administration.
Process, sample and monitor wood fuel to support operational requirements and fuel quality standards.
Carry out routine checks, inspections, first‑line maintenance and defect reporting.
Support safe maintenance activities, including plant isolation, preparation and recommissioning.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, waste management, compliance, shift logging and handover.
Contribute to safe, efficient operations by identifying issues, supporting improvement activity and assisting the wider Operations team.

Purpose of Role
