Job description

Our client is a well established and successful manufacturer, they are looking for a Fuel Handling Operative to join their team. This role would suit someone with previous experience as a Production Operative / Quality Inspector / Telehandler Operator / General Operative / Process Technician / or similar role. As long as you have enthusiasm to learn and an in-date Telehandler licence, you may be considered.

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • You have an in-date Telehandler licence (Essential)
  • You drive and have your own transport (there is no public transport to the site) (Essential)
  • A good level of English and Maths is required, together with computer skills
  • Knowledge of biomass and/or how power plants work would be a definite advantage, and will be favoured

Salary circa GBP36,000 + Great benefits.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7.00am 4.00pm.

Job description:

To enhance productivity, our client has constructed a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility which provides process steam and electricity, with an electrical export connection. The CHP utilises certain products as primary fuel, producing a heat input of 42MWth to the boiler, and thus generating up to 10.7MWe (at 1.5t/h process steam).

Responsibilities:

  • Operating a Telehandler
  • Communicate with the site weighbridge area
  • Receiving deliveries of product for the fuel storage building
  • Record the delivery and dispatch via a computerised system
  • Take fuel samples and monitor and operate the equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure continuous fuel storage and operations
  • Take regular plant walk-downs with visual inspections, reporting findings to the designated Senior Operator
