Job summary

GoFibre is seeking an FTTP Install Engineer to survey properties and connect customers to our full fibre network across Scotland and the North of England. You’ll plan routes, install, splice, test and fault-find to ensure high-quality connections, while maintaining safety standards.

You will handle fibre cabling, OTDR testing, and work across overhead and underground networks, delivering excellent customer service from initial survey to completion.

Qualifications

• Experience with FTTP networks is required.
• Fibre splicing, testing and fault-finding experience.
• Knowledge of overhead and underground networks is essential.
• Confident use of OTDR and fibre testing equipment.
• NRSWA accreditation and SA001/SA002 preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Survey residential properties ahead of installation.
• Plan the best route to connect customers.
• Install and commission FTTP broadband in homes.
• Handle fibre cabling, blowing, splicing and termination.
• Test and fault-find using fibre testing equipment and OTDR.
• Work across overhead and underground networks.
• Complete survey and installation records with accuracy.
• Maintain safety and quality standards for every job.

FTTP Install Engineer , you'll be out on the road surveying properties and connecting customers' homes to our network. From planning the best installation route to fibre installation, splicing, testing and fault-finding, you'll make sure every job is completed safely and to a high standard. What does a day look like?

What does a day look like?

• Carrying out surveys at residential properties ahead of installation
• Planning the best route to get customers connected
• Installing and commissioning FTTP broadband in customers' homes
• Fibre cabling, blowing, splicing and termination
• Testing and fault-finding using OTDR and fibre testing equipment
• Working across overhead and underground PIA networks
• Completing survey and installation records
• Making sure every job meets our safety and quality standards
• Giving customers a great experience from survey through to connection

What we're looking for

• Hands-on experience working on FTTP networks
• Fibre splicing, testing and fault-finding experience
• Knowledge of overhead and underground networks
• Confident using OTDR and fibre testing equipment
• Working at Height experience
• NRSWA, SA001 and SA002 accreditation
• Full UK driving licence
• A practical, problem-solving approach
• Great communication and customer service skills
