Job summary

Gigaclear is seeking a Field Engineer to support our FTTP network across Cambridge and the M11 corridor. A structured training pathway with external sector courses on underground and overhead PIA, plus internal Gigaclear training, awaits the successful candidate.

You will handle Break Fix tasks across civils and fibre networks, performing splicing and testing while adhering to safety and build specifications. A valid driving licence and DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Background in Civils, Fibre and/or Telecoms, ideally fibre optic networks (FTTH/FTTP).
• Experience with installations, fault fix, repair and/or maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and fault fix network issues.
• Knowledge of in-field Civils specs (NRSWA) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Break Fix schedules with stakeholders to complete on time, safely and to standard.
• Handle traditional underground/buried and PIA overhead/underground fixes.
• Perform service repair on PIA PON networks.
• Respond to overhead pole issues and provide feedback for contractor instruction.
• Carry out fibre splicing and testing.
• Ensure personal and team adherence to quality and safety standards.
