Grant Thornton’s Alternative Funds Tax team offers tax advisory, transaction, and compliance services to alternative funds and their investment managers across all asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, private debt, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, and crypto assets.
The team’s client portfolio covers a broad spectrum of the asset management sector, serving traditional asset managers, financial institutions, private equity funds, alternative investors, real estate firms, wealth managers, hedge funds, UK pension funds, and global institutional investors. We combine technical expertise with a commercial approach to build trusted advisory relationships with our clients.
The Alternative Funds Tax team is part of the wider Financial Services Tax team, which provides tax services to clients in the Wealth and Asset Management, Banking and Capital Markets, and Insurance sectors.
We have ambitious growth plans and are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Manager with strong UK tax compliance experience to join our London team. The role is compliance-focused but also involves working on domestic and international structuring, transactions, and advisory projects, alongside a varied portfolio of tax compliance and investor reporting engagements.
You will manage the full suite of tax compliance for asset managers and their funds, including trading corporates, partnerships, investor reporting, and more.
The role involves working closely with partners to develop strong client relationships within our current and target client base. The job is dynamic and varied, requiring an active, agile approach to different projects and teams.

As a Tax Manager for Alternative Funds, you will:
Candidate Profile
Joining as a Manager, the minimum requirements include a professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent) and confidence in managing a client portfolio.
Preferred skills include strong tax technical expertise, interest in asset management (experience with alternative asset classes is a plus but not essential), corporate and partnership tax compliance experience, project leadership skills, self-motivation, teamwork, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with relevant software such as Alpha tax, CCH Personal Tax, Power BI, and Microsoft Office. Experience in coaching and developing junior staff is also desirable.
