Job summary

The Best Connection in Swadlincote is seeking a Refuse Loader to join a frontline waste collection team. You will collect and load waste and recycling bins, supporting the driver and fellow loaders to complete daily rounds efficiently and safely.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:00, with pay of £12.71–£12.84 per hour. Training is provided; prior experience helps but is not essential for this outdoor, physically demanding role.

Qualifications

• This is a physically demanding, outdoor role.
• A team player with a strong work ethic and reliability.
• Punctual, respectful, and safety-conscious.
• Previous experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential - full training provided

Responsibilities

• Collecting and loading waste and recycling bins onto refuse collection vehicles
• Ensuring waste is collected in line with council guidelines and schedules
• Reporting any issues such as missed collections, damaged bins, or contamination
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
• Providing excellent service to residents and representing the council positively
