Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Refuse Loader in Burton upon Trent to join a frontline team. You will collect and load waste and recycling from residential properties, supporting the driver and fellow loaders to complete daily rounds efficiently and safely.

This role is physically demanding and outdoors, requiring reliability and a good work ethic. Training is provided, with a Monday–Friday schedule and standard hours, plus overtime after 37 hours.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and loading waste and recycling bins onto refuse collection vehicles.
• Ensuring waste is collected in line with council guidelines and schedules.
• Reporting any issues such as missed collections, damaged bins, or contamination.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
• Providing excellent service to residents and representing the council positively.
