Overview

Role Overview: Frontline Technical Support Engineer (Shifts)

Location: Hybrid - Swindon, Wiltshire

Team: Service Operations

Schedule: Shift pattern

Salary: £32,500 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)

Responsibilities
  • Rapid response to alerts and tickets to minimize disruption
  • Execute system changes under strict Change Management protocols
  • Lead or support Major Incident Management (including scribing and communications)
  • Investigate root causes and recommend service improvements
  • Maintain crisp audit trails via ticketing systems
  • Stay current with Paytech\'s technologies and contribute to team knowledge growth
  • Proactively identify potential service disruptions
Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset
  • Experience with at least one of:
    • SQL (complex queries)
    • Unix (effective command-line competence)
    • Java (code reading)
  • Client relationship management
  • Fluent English and MS Office proficiency

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with tools like AppDynamics, Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie, Citrix
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
