Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Security Officer to join our front-line team at Southend. You will respond to incidents, patrol the site, and assist staff and visitors while delivering high standards of service and safety.

The role operates in all weather, with emphasis on calm, professional conduct and excellent customer service. NHS pension, generous leave, and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• General Knowledge of Health and Safety.
• GCSE or Equivalent.
• Experience with CCTV and Access Control systems.
• Experience with car parking systems including ANPR.
• Experience in NHS environment.
• PMVA level 2 training.
• Knowledge of DoLS and MCA framework.
• Disclosure to check for criminal convictions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and security alerts.
• Carry out general security duties across the site.
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to staff and visitors.
• Answer general enquiries from patients and visitors.
• Ensure emergency access points remain clear.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment.
