Job summary

The AI Security Institute's Research Unit is seeking software engineers to join the Core Technology Team. You will work on critical research-oriented software and infrastructure, with mentorship from technical leads and interaction with world-class researchers.

You may be a good fit at junior to staff levels, contributing to Inspect, model hosting, and custom infrastructure for frontier AI research, in a hybrid London/UK-based role with ample resources and collaboration opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Add a feature to sandbox plugins for Inspect to support advanced agentic evals with safe mechanisms to let models write and execute code
• Implement support for a new class of open-weights model on our hosting platform
• Design custom infrastructure for new research projects
• Collaborate with the open-source community on features in Inspect or its plugin ecosystem
• Assist with evaluation testing of frontier AI models and debugging API changes
