Job summary

FanDuel is seeking a Software Engineer—Frontend (React Native/React) in Edinburgh to join the Sportsbook engineering team. You will work on foundational engineering, improving frameworks, tooling, and performance to deliver a distinctive customer experience on mobile.

Responsibilities include contributing to the core React Native codebase, enhancing app launch performance, and building shared components to support feature teams, while maintaining platform quality and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience building mobile applications.
• Strong practical experience with React Native OR React.
• Interest in performance optimization, tooling, and frameworks as well as app features.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the core React Native codebase underpinning our Sportsbook app.
• Improve app launch performance and broader performance enhancements.
• Build and maintain frameworks, tooling, and shared components for feature teams.
• Collaborate with engineers across domains to solve cross-cutting technical challenges.
• Implement pragmatic solutions balancing performance, maintainability and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Join the on-call rota and support out-of-hours incident response.
