Frontend Engineer, 12M FTC (London, Berlin or Madrid), EU Prime & Marketing

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Frontend Engineer to join the EU Prime team on a 12-month fixed term contract in London, Berlin or Madrid.

EU Prime and Marketing FEEs provide technical content support to Content Marketers for content testing, and Product Managers for product launches. They utilise their knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and relevant frameworks), content management systems (CMS) and web standards (A11y) to deliver experiences to our customers in several marketplaces across browsers and device types.

The role requires industry-leading technical abilities in frontend engineering, including design, testing, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations; and is expected to use web development technology to solve customer-facing business problems, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and work towards team goals using web development engineering best practices.

Key job responsibilities

1. Support marketers and product managers in launching customer experiences for millions of Prime subscribers worldwide.
2. Build high quality, global scale customer experiences using Amazon standard UI frameworks.
3. Demonstrate industry leading technical capabilities across the development lifecycle, from design to support.
4. Implement and maintain industry standards for accessibility.
5. Implement quality front-end code across customer-facing websites with an eye toward performance, accessibility, and industry best-practices.
6. Develop fully responsive CSS/HTML templates, and website experiences.
7. Partner globally across teams and with leadership to align initiatives with business goals.
8. Maintain core marketing tech stack and act as a technical liaison.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis)
2. Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React
3. Experience (non-internship) in professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in agile software development methodology
2. Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
