We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Front-End Developer to join our dynamic team on a 12-month contract. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in building, optimising, and maintaining high-performance, responsive websites. Your primary focus will be developing intuitive and engaging user interfaces that meet modern standards and exceed user expectations, many of the websites are shopify, experience in this is a plus.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers to understand project requirements and with designers to transform creative concepts into functional, user-friendly interfaces. You will also work alongside back-end engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless, end-to-end functionality. Your contributions will directly enhance user engagement and satisfaction across our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and maintain responsive web sites using modern front-end technologies
● Collaborate with designers to implement and refi ne designs
● Optimise applications for speed and scalability
● Ensure code quality through testing and peer code reviews
● Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups
● Help maintain and improve CI/CD setups
Required Qualifications
● 3+ years of experience in front-end development
● Strong understanding of WordPress and building WordPress websites
● Experience working in a CI/CD environment
● Familiarity with Git
● Good communication and collaboration skills
● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
The role is based in Waterloo, but that said, some of the Dev team are remote first. The team are ideally looking for someone who can come in at least for the first few weeks to meet key stakeholders, and then the role can be remote or hybrid thereafter.
