Job summary

EDF Energy in London is seeking a Backend Developer to enhance front-office Python-based tools used by traders and analysts. You will own end-to-end delivery from analysis through design to deployment, with regular liaison to end users and adherence to DevOps practices.

The role emphasizes performance optimisation of backend services, API development with Flask/FastAPI/Streamlit, and working in a hybrid setup with occasional travel to Paris.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building Web APIs with Flask, FastAPI, Streamlit or other Python frameworks.
• Strong ability to optimize backend performance and scalability.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Implement new features and enhancements for Python-based front-office tools.
• Deliver end-to-end changes from analysis through design to implementation and release.
• Provide post-deployment support as required.
• Liaise with end users throughout the change lifecycle.
• Adhere to the company's DevOps practices and guidelines.
• Document changes and test scenarios.
