Job summary

Pangea is seeking a Middle Distillates Analyst to support a high-performing distillates trading desk in a front-office analytics role. You will build a differentiated view of global balances, flows, and price drivers, turning analysis into actionable trading insight.

The role focuses on developing forecasting tools, monitoring market developments, and delivering concise outputs to traders and stakeholders. Strong Python modelling and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Distillates fundamentals experience required.
• Strong understanding of physical markets and arbitrage (incl. freight/shipping economics).
• Experience producing independent, forward-looking fundamentals views that inform decisions.
• Strong modelling and data capability: Python.
• Clear communication style—able to turn complex analysis into trade-relevant insight.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a global distillates supply & demand balance.
• Develop forecasting and scenario tools covering refinery runs/yields, flows, inventories, demand and margins.
• Analyse arbitrage economics, freight, physical premiums and dislocations across key basins.
• Monitor news, macro, geopolitics and market microstructure, translating developments into desk-relevant conclusions.
• Track physical tenders/transactions and assess implications for near-term and forward structure.
• Deliver concise daily/weekly outputs (dashboards, notes, presentations) to traders and stakeholders.
