Base salary of 70 - 90K GBP

The role

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to develop custom and enrich off-the-shelf applications for the hedge fund business. You will work closely with the front office on workflow automation solutions concerning research, portfolio management, operations and trading. The candidate should demonstrate strong technical skills and a desire to learn the financial aspects and businesses of our firm.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Working with the business areas to design, build and deploy custom applications and enrich off-the-shelf applications as required
2. Provide technical solutions through development to automate processes or functions to improve business operations
3. Develop corresponding operations and support procedures for application support
4. Design and develop scripts to automate operational tasks and maintenance
5. Administer and enforce IT development standards and processes
6. Provide support during scheduled contingency tests and upgrades
7. Assist with the installation of patches and updates, determine impact on applications
8. Work directly with end users & support staff on issues
9. 3 years+ C# programming experience
10. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT related field or equivalent work experience
11. Good understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
12. Unit and Integration testing
13. Persistent/Real-time messaging system experience
14. Experience in working alongside a global team to deliver systems that adhere to firm wide standards
