Job description

The mission of the Data Engineering, Analytics and Innovation team is to own, build, and develop the tools, best practices, and datasets needed to drive data-driven insights and efficiencies across the business.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn on the job, be adaptable in a dynamic work environment, and manage and communicate priorities effectively. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring comfort in switching between individual project work, stakeholder communication, and supporting the team.

The objectives of the role include:

  1. Establishing strong working relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
  2. Data Product Ownership: defining, designing, driving, and implementing solutions.
  3. Building common libraries and data patterns across markets (Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Commodities).
  4. Supporting planning, communication, design, and implementation of business deliverables.
  5. Analyzing current systems and workflows to make improvements.
  6. Managing and improving critical data pipelines and reporting solutions.
  7. Developing tools for data loading, processing, cleaning, querying, analysis, and visualization.
  8. Enhancing reporting, forecasting tools, and dashboards.
  9. Collaborating with front office teams to understand business needs.
  10. Performing data profiling and validation.
  11. Working with cross-functional teams and ensuring data governance.
  12. Promoting best practices and improving workflows and tooling.

Projects include developing data pipelines, improving reporting tools, supporting internal libraries, building client frameworks, and implementing dashboards.

Role requirements include:

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in engineering, statistics, or finance.
  2. Strong Python skills and experience with Pandas, Numpy.
  3. Proficiency in SQL and RDBMS.
  4. Experience with data cleaning, scraping, streaming, and time series data.
  5. Knowledge of visualization libraries and dashboarding tools.
  6. Understanding of test-driven development, data modeling, ETL pipelines, and agile practices.
  7. Experience with Big Data principles, Linux, and shell scripting.
  8. Passion for engineering and user experience design.

Behavioral qualities include being proactive, organized, a team player, with strong communication skills and a critical thinking approach.

Desirable skills include experience in client analysis, market data, PnL reporting, knowledge of capital markets, framework/API design, DevOps, BI tools, NoSQL, cloud, and web development.
