Job summary

The Hornsmill, Helsby, operated by Hydes Brewery, is seeking a part-time Front of House Team Member. You will work on the bar and floor, get to know the menu, and engage with guests to ensure a memorable visit. This role offers flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

You'll be supported by a development programme with funded hospitality qualifications and clear progression paths within Hydes. Benefits include tips, weekly pay, and family-friendly incentives.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at bar and on floor, acting as the face of The Hornsmill site.
• Recommend dishes and drinks to accompany meals.
• Keep tables and seating areas clean to a high standard.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest needs.
• Attend ongoing training to develop skills and knowledge.

Flexible working hours - from 1 shift / 6 hours a week upwards including evenings and weekends with flexible shifts.

What you’ll be doing as a Front of House Team Member

As a part time Front of House team member, our customers are in your hands. You'll work on the bar and the floor and will be the face of the site and become knowledgeable about all the dishes on our menu and be able to recommend accompanying beverages. Most of all you love to look after people, understand what makes them happy and have the desire to make someone’s day.

Your role will be crucial in ensuring the happiness of our customers, and responsibilities will include:

• Increasing sales through friendly service and conversation, and recommending dishes, and accompanying drinks.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of tables and seating areas meet our high standards for every customer you greet in both the bar and restaurant areas.
• Working as part of a team to deliver excellent standards of customer service, ensuring each and every customer receives the best service possible.
• Attention to detail to ensure you serve the customer with the correct order every time and pay particular attention to allergens.
• Undertaking continual training to develop your skills and knowledge.

Your Pub

The Hornsmill in Helsby, is very stylish site, with an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere and bags of character. The site offers freshly prepared food, and has an orangery dedicated to food service. Alternatively, customers can relax in the more traditional pub area to enjoy the amazing food and drinks that are on offer. There is also an attractive outside area, for al fresco dining, as well as access to many different walking routes. Walkers, dogs and families are all welcome, making this an extremely vibrant site to be part of.
