National Security Business
Be part of a growing and highly trusted supplier into the NS domain working to deliver mission critical solutions helping to keep the nation safe, secure and prosperous.

Working on leading edge technology solutions including AI/DS, Cyber, Cloud, DevOPs/SRE, Platform Engineering

As a Front-End Software Developer, you’ll perform full end to end development from design, implementation, through to testing and deployment of a user interface to a system that allows our customers to keep the nation safe.
This isn’t developing UI that links to a back end letting you know how long your takeaway will take to arrive; its developing software and solving problems for mission critical applications. Your work will help keep the country safe.

Because it’s not about sitting on your own at home, coding all day; you’ll want to collaborate with like-minded individuals whilst creating wireframes and story boards that deliver intuitive products whilst innovating to improve user experience.

Roke is a leading technology & engineering company with clients spanning National Security, Defence and Intelligence. You will work alongside our customers to solve their complex and unique challenges.

As our next Front-End Software Developer you’ll provide technical leadership within the UI team, conducting analysis to understand the impact of design; whilst also defining workflows, interactions and UI specifications in close collaboration with product owners, end users and the development team.

The Key Requirements...

  • An exposure to some, but not all of the below (that would be an ideal);
  • Developing UI tests utilising tools such Selenium, Jest or Cypress.
  • Module Bundlers (esbuild, parcel, vite, webpack).
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and specifications such as WCAG, WAI-ARIA etc.
  • CI pipelines (e.g. Gitlab CI).
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Any UX experience including Wireframing, Story boarding using tools such as Figma, and user testing.

Built on over a 60 year heritage, Roke offers specialist knowledge in sensors, communications, cyber, and AI and ML. We change the way organisations think and act through dynamic insights from the analysis of multiple layers of data. We take care of the innovative, technical stuff that keeps everyone safe that’s our mission, passion, and motivation.

We have secured long term work, across the full spectrum, on the latest framework with the client, which provides the springboard for our ongoing growth and development in this domain, so join us on what will be an incredible growth journey.
