Unknown is seeking a Front End Engineer to join our data-driven finance team. Based in Liverpool or London with a hybrid working pattern, this 12-month fixed-term contract focuses on building responsive, data-rich applications that help users explore complex datasets and make informed investment decisions.

You will develop intuitive interfaces for analytics tools, work closely with business users, product teams and data engineers, and contribute to design decisions, usability, and software

Formación

• Strong TypeScript and React skills.
• Experience with Snowflake and Streamlit.

• Familiarity with charting or data grid tools (AG Grid/Highcharts/D3/Plotly).
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.

Front End Engineer

Location: Liverpool or London
Working pattern: Hybrid
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract

We're recruiting for a Front End Engineer to join an established financial services business, building applications that help users explore complex data and make informed investment decisions.

You’ll develop clear, intuitive interfaces for analytics tools, turning detailed requirements into responsive applications. Working closely with business users, product teams and data engineers, you’ll have input into solution design, usability and software quality.

The role

• Build and enhance applications using React, TypeScript and Streamlit on the Snowflake platform.
• Create interactive dashboards, charts and data grids that perform effectively with large datasets.
• Develop tools for comparing portfolios, exploring risk and performance, and modelling different scenarios.
• Integrate applications with Snowflake data, APIs and calculation services.
• Work directly with users to understand requirements and improve user journeys.
• Maintain quality through automated testing, code reviews and clear documentation.
• Build accessibility, security and appropriate user permissions into applications.
• Support releases and the transition into ongoing support.

About you

You’ll have commercial experience building complex, data rich applications, with strong engineering skills and a practical approach to usability.

We’re looking for:

• Strong TypeScript and React skills, or experience with a comparable modern framework.
• Practical experience developing applications on Snowflake, particularly using Streamlit.
• Experience integrating APIs and working with large datasets.
• Familiarity with charting or data grid tools such as AG Grid, Highcharts, D3 or Plotly.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• An understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards.
• Knowledge of role based access controls and single sign on.
• The ability to translate complex requirements into clear technical designs.

Experience in investment, trading or risk applications would be useful, but strong application development and usability skills are more important than financial services experience.
