Job summary

Felix Consultants is seeking a Front end Developer in Birmingham to own the development of modern web applications. You will work with React.js, TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, and Next.js to deliver scalable UI components and services.

The role requires 5+ years of front-end experience, strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, and testing with Jest/RTL. You will collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product managers in an Agile environment to ship high-quality features.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level in a Computing/Software/Technology related subject, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience relevant field.
• Strong understanding of front-end development lifecycle.

As a Front end Developer, you will be part of a development team who are working with cutting edge technologies, so it is key that you have a good understanding of the full development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using React.js, TypeScript, and Redux Toolkit.
• Implement responsive, accessible, and reusable UI components with HTML5, CSS3, and Tailwind CSS.
• Integrate applications with REST APIs, WebSockets, and JWT authentication for secure and real-time data handling.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, backend engineers, product managers) to deliver high-quality features.
• Optimize application performance and ensure a smooth user experience across devices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong proficiency in React.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with state management (Redux / Redux Toolkit).
• Knowledge of Next.js for server-side rendering and modern frontend architecture.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, WebSockets, and authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth).
• Strong understanding of Git version control and Agile methodologies.

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes Required
