Job Opportunity: Front Desk Administrator at MOD

Brook Street is excited to offer a full-time position supporting the Ministry of Defence at His Majesty's Naval Base Devonport. The role involves delivering safe and effective healthcare services within the regional base.

Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the first point of contact for the region, managing phone inquiries, queries, and appointment bookings.
  2. Assist the Regional Clinical Director, Operations Manager, and HMNB staff with diary management, research, and project tasks.
  3. Draft and prepare general correspondence, minutes, decision records, memos, and emails.
  4. Coordinate with medical centres and external agencies as needed.
  5. Maintain contact and distribution lists, and manage databases and spreadsheets.
  6. Organize electronic filing systems and archive documents.
  7. Handle office equipment and building issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
  8. Provide support for other administrative duties within HMNB and cover colleagues during absences.
Requirements:
  • Strong administrative skills and office management experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building successful relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare or defence sectors.
  • Knowledge of electronic procurement and financial documentation.
Additional Details:

Pay Rate: £12.99/hr + 50p/hour allowance

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37 hours/week

Duration: 7 months, ending 31/03/25, with potential extension based on performance

Note: Successful candidates will undergo a 3-year activity check and a basic DBS.
