Job summary

RINA is seeking an experienced Friction Testing Inspector to carry out inspection activities for clients in the UK. The ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Degree, relevant experience, and the ability to prepare reports. This freelance position is located in Aberdeen and spans a period from June 16, 2025, to July 31, 2025.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as Mechanical Inspector.
• Experience with offshore pipelay is a plus.
• Residency in the UK required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities on behalf of RINA.
• Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports.
• Conduct inspections at vendor’s premises.

Job description

RINA is looking for experienced Friction Testing Inspector to perform inspection activities on behalf of RINA for our esteemed clients in the UK.

Requested:

• Mechanical inspector with friction testing experience
• Mechanically inclined inspector or engineer. Understanding or experience with offshore pipelay is a plus
• Mechanical Degree ( Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering or graduate from high school in relevant branches) / certificates such as NDT, welding, coating, etc.
• Experience as Mechanical Inspector (min. 3 years); Inspectors should have inspection experience at the vendor’s premises. Experience may cover daily inspections or short term/long term project inspections on behalf of clients or third party inspections;
• Ability to prepare daily/weekly inspection reports;
• Adequate level of English for reporting, understanding international standards/codes, and communicating with clients in case of need;
• Being a freelancer inspector or part of inspectors agency/society, the inspector or the company should be able to invoice the service;
