Our business mainly focuses on food & grocery, and uniquely, we source & process most of the fresh food we sell through our own manufacturing facilities.

We’re recruiting for a high-performing Fresh Food Manager to help our business continue to grow and succeed.

Market street is what makes us different. Our close relationships with farmers and growers mean we know exactly where our food comes from, enabling us to deliver good quality and great value on Market Street every day. We are passionate about Fresh Food and pay keen attention to details.

Our Fresh Food Managers take pride in the availability of our products, always putting the customer at the heart of everything we do and delivering exceptional customer service by listening and responding to our customers.

Reporting into the Store Manager, you will also:

  1. Lead and empower colleagues to always put the customer first and deliver outstanding customer service.
  2. Listen and respond to customer feedback and react accordingly.
  3. Ensure market-leading availability across the store.
  4. Collaborate with other managers to lead a supportive and performance-driven department.
  5. Manage all people routines, including scheduling, absence, performance, and talent conversations.
  6. Deliver training to ensure the team has the capability and confidence to perform their roles.
  7. Enable colleagues to work confidently across various departments.
  8. Identify and develop talent within the department.
  9. Build effective relationships with other operational departments.
  10. Lead colleagues to work with purpose, delivering outstanding performance against relevant targets.
  11. Take a leadership role within the store.
  12. Ensure resource planning is thorough.

How do we say thank you?

You will play a vital role in our business and have a significant impact on our success. We offer excellent training, support, and continued development, along with a competitive salary and superb benefits package.

Want more?

Our benefits include a generous bonus, an attractive pension scheme, private healthcare, and a colleague discount to share with friends and family. We also offer family-friendly policies, including 26 weeks of maternity and adoption leave, neonatal and fertility leave.

Why not explore our stores, warehouses, and colleague canteens through our 360 tour to get a real taste of life at Morrisons?

About you

Whether your background is in retail, hospitality, service industry, or travel & tourism, if you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, we want to hear from you.

What do we need from you?

  • Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across all areas, while remaining flexible.
  • Adaptability to change and the ability to challenge effectively.
  • Active listening skills to respond effectively to customers and colleagues.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

About us

With over 100 years of experience, we love providing our customers with a unique shopping experience.

With just under 500 stores across the UK, our retail colleagues work as one team to provide essentials, great service, and a lively shopping environment. It’s why our customers keep coming back.

As the UK’s 4th largest supermarket, we deliver great value and high-quality fresh food and groceries to over 11 million customers weekly. Our focus on freshness makes us stand out, as we prepare more fresh food in-store than any other supermarket. It’s challenging and fast-paced, but our friendly team loves going above and beyond to meet our customers’ needs.

At Morrisons, we invest in our colleagues and industry-leading training programs. Many of our store managers started on the shop floor, understanding firsthand how to support colleagues and serve customers effectively.
