Full-Time French Teacher - Southampton, Hampshire

GSL Education are thrilled to be recruiting for a Full-Time French Teacher at a welcoming secondary school in Southampton. This maternity cover role is set to begin in September 2025, offering a beautifully competitive annual salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000, depending on your experience. The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract following the completion of a probation period, making this a fantastic opportunity for both ECTs and experienced language educators alike.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective French lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Support students in developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in French.
• Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with the curriculum and student abilities.
• Encourage cultural awareness and a love for languages.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

• A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent).
• A passion for teaching French and inspiring students to learn a new language.
• Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to plan creative lessons.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Enthusiasm and dedication to both student success and personal professional growth.
• Open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and seasoned educators.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
• A competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 annually, based on experience.
• A supportive and inclusive school environment.
• A fixed-term contract following successful probation.
