Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French Teacher to join a modern languages department.

You will inspire and motivate students to develop their confidence and skills in French, delivering engaging lessons that help students progress and develop a love for languages. You will plan and teach across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities for KS5 if applicable. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a French Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality French lessons to a range of abilities.

  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to participate and develop their language skills.

  • Assess, track and report on student progress.

  • Contribute to the wider modern languages department, including trips, clubs or enrichment activities.

  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and achievement.

Ideal French Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for French language and culture.

  • Be able to inspire, motivate and engage students.

  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills as a French Teacher.

  • Be a positive team player, committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
