Freight Sales Executive
Location: Windes
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Bonus
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30 (office-based)
Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays

We are working with a well-established freight forwarder who are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Freight Sales Executive. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong sea freight sales knowledge to join a growing branch and play a key role in driving new business.

Unlike traditional BDM roles, this position is tailored for a hands-on internal sales professional who has existing relationships with industry contacts and develop profitable accounts across all modes - with a bias towards sea freight (import and export, with an export lean).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop profitable accounts across sea, air, and road freight in line with company policy.
  • Arrange and negotiate pricing, ensuring profitability and compliance.
  • Drive forward new business opportunities to increase volume and company profile.
  • Deliver new accounts and create SOPs for shipments gained.
  • Accurately quote and follow up with clients in a timely manner.
  • Maintain performance records, showing progress and development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
  • Analyse market conditions, communicate trends, and build client confidence.
  • Apply financial and risk management skills to evaluate opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven freight forwarding sales experience (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of sea freight import/export sales, ideally with an export bias.
  • Ability to bring accounts and develop new opportunities.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and ability to make swift decisions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and motivate self to achieve results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with ability to produce reports.
