Job Description:

We are actively looking to engage with either experienced freight forwarders or graduates with a passion for freight forwarding and shipping for a new role as a Freight Operations Co-ordinator in Southampton.

My client is a market-leader in the shipping industry with offices worldwide, including the Americas, Africa, and the Far East, with a regional head office based in Europe. You will join a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail, and FMCG customers. The client specializes in air freight, sea freight, and road freight solutions that are cost-effective and time-sensitive.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage air, sea, and ocean freight import and export bookings, including pricing, quotations, shipping, and customs documentation.
• Handle operational documents such as bookings, airway bills, and loading confirmations.
• Nominating carriers, airlines, and GSAs in line with rates, OTIF, and customer requirements, adhering to various INCOTerms.
• Prepare customs documentation (ISF, COO, clearance docs) to facilitate freight movement across countries.
• Conduct customer rate analysis and monitor operations to ensure efficiency and secure allocations.
• Develop relationships to ensure high-quality customer service aligned with clients' business needs.

The Ideal Candidate:

The candidate should have experience in ocean and air freight forwarding, including import and export. Recent graduates interested in starting their career in freight forwarding are also encouraged to apply. Key skills include:

• At least 1 year of experience in freight forwarding (air, sea, or road).
• Experience with pricing, quotations, and planning deliveries.
• Desirable: knowledge of customs compliance.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
• Ability to commute to Southampton.
