Import Operator

Location: Gateshead

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm

Working Pattern: On-site with hybrid working available after probation

Jackson Hogg are delighted to have partnered with a global freight forwarder to recruit an Import Operator to join their busy team in Gateshead.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with air freight or sea freight experience who are confident handling end-to-end import operations within a supportive, international business.

Key Responsibilities

• Quoting air and sea shipments for both existing and new customers
• Booking shipments with suppliers and ensuring timely processing
• Raising and managing documentation including customs entries, bills of lading, and airway bills
• Completing CDS entries using ASM Sequoia
• Liaising with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth import operations

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in air or sea freight operations
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation simultaneously
• Confident in using freight forwarding systems, ideally ASM Sequoia
