DHL Global Forwarding UK is seeking a Freight Agent & Administration Specialist to oversee on‑road transport operations, invoice customers, and generate financial reports. You will liaise with operations, internal DHL partners, and customers, maintaining accurate data and ensuring shipments meet quality procedures.

The role requires good organisational, IT and communication skills, with one‑year logistics office experience preferred. 37.5 hours per week, on site in the UK.

Role Overview

The Freight Agent & Administration Specialist will be responsible for a variety of roles, from overseeing on‑road transport operations to ensure all movements are completed efficiently and in line with company standards, to invoicing customers and reporting functionality.

Acting as a key operational link this role will liaise regularly with operations, internal DHL partners (specifically finance) and customers. This role involves maintaining accurate data within internal systems, ensuring all shipments are processed in accordance with established quality procedures, invoicing customers, and financial reporting, to ultimately deliver excellent service to both external and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• To monitor and administrate freight collections and deliveries, plus manage on the road transport operations to ensure successful completion.
• Liaise with customers on a regular basis to monitor and process consignments and solve any operational problems
• Keep internal communications with other DHL Freight partner as necessary
• Process, maintain and update data on company systems
• Ensure shipping process is carried out in line with the company's processes and quality procedures
• Invoicing customers
• Financial monitoring & reporting
• Contribute to the ‘First Choice’ continuous improvement program
• Participate in Monthly Team briefing sessions and weekly performance dialog meetings
• Complete all statutory and mandatory training as and when required
• Ensures that all interactions are compliant with The DHL Group Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements e.g. anti-corruption

Skills and Experience:

• Good organisational, IT and communication skills.
• Intermediate use of MS Office Packages - preferred
• Ability to focus on identifying and meeting customer's needs (internal and external)
• Ability to think and act across boundaries ( e.g between processes and departments)
• Contributes new ideas and is happy to challenge the status quo
• Challenges self to continually improve in role
• Good communication skills both individually and to internal/external customers
• Be aware of Health and Safety standards, along with a high understanding of dignity and diversity in the workplace.
• Have a methodical and organised approach to work with the ability to think ahead and prioritise tasks.
• One‑year Logistics office experience preferred

• Some warehouse interaction required

HOURS/SHIFT PATTERN: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
