A renowned science-focused media company seeks a Freelance Senior Product Designer for a 3-month project in Greater London. This role requires solid experience in UI design and a strong collaborative approach, focusing on high-quality, content-heavy designs within digital publishing. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience, particularly in mobile and responsive design, and be well-versed in Figma.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in end-to-end product/UI design (ideally 5+ years).
  • Strong skills in high-fidelity UI execution, especially for mobile and responsive design.
  • Previous experience in editorial, media, or publishing environments preferred.
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Able to articulate design thinking and decisions to non-design stakeholders.
  • A team player who’s proactive, collaborative, and easy to work with.

Responsibilities

  • Designing high-fidelity UI for mobile-first and responsive web platforms.
  • Working in rapid iterations, often producing multiple design versions for quick feedback.
  • Supporting ideation sessions with product and UX stakeholders.
  • Translating rough concepts into clear, visually engaging user interfaces.
  • Contributing UX input where needed (flows, layouts, interaction design).
  • Preparing and presenting mock-ups and prototypes for internal review and senior stakeholder presentations.

Freelance Senior Product Designer
Start date: Monday, 28th July
Duration: 3 months
Location: High Street Kensington, London
Working pattern: Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 remote per week (set by client – not flexible)
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (must use an umbrella company)
Day rate: £595 per day
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)
A well-known, science-focused media company is looking for a Senior UI/Product Designer to join them on a fast-moving project focused on digital innovation.
This role sits within their in-house product and design team and will involve close collaboration with product owners, developers, and senior leadership. The focus is on delivering high-quality content-heavy designs within a publishing/ content platform.
What you’ll be doing:
    Designing high-fidelity UI for mobile-first and responsive web platforms
    Working in rapid iterations, often producing multiple design versions for quick feedback
    Supporting ideation sessions with product and UX stakeholders
    Translating rough concepts into clear, visually engaging user interfaces
