A leading construction firm is seeking a Freelance Site Manager with HMP prison experience in Norwich. The role involves managing construction activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Live Environment - HMP Prison Experience required

We require a Freelance Site Manager, who will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of works across multiple live areas within an operational HMP prison. The role requires a proactive, hands‑on Site Manager with strong experience in construction and fire safety improvements, ensuring works are delivered safely, securely, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day site activities across multiple live prison areas
  • Take direct responsibility for fire safety improvements, including builders' work and fire door installations
  • Maintain full compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and prison regulations
  • Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and liaison with prison authorities
  • Drive site productivity through a visible, hands‑on presence on site
Working Hours

7:00am - 5:00pm

Essential Requirements
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • SMSTS certification
  • First Aid qualification
  • Proven Site Manager experience within construction
  • Strong background in fire safety works, including fire doors and associated builders' work
  • Previous experience working in a live HMP prison environment (essential)
  • Hands‑on approach with a strong on‑site presence
