Job summary

Sing Education is seeking a reliable and inspirational Tuition Teacher to deliver keyboard and violin lessons (small group and 1:1) at Grade 6 level or higher. A music degree and QTS are preferred, with DBS and safeguarding responsibilities emphasized.

Weekly school-based teaching runs 9am–3:30pm during term time; there is also a 1-hour Music Club in the late afternoon. The role offers flexible placement across multiple London-area schools.

Qualifications

• University graduate with a good degree in music or a related field.
• Evidence of further professional development.
• QTS.
• Strong singing voice and ability to use it to support pupil learning.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to lead small group (up to 5) and one-to-one lessons.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Basic keyboard skills if not first instrument.
• ICT literacy and ability to use online systems such as G Suite and other communication platforms.
• Knowledge of Kodály and Dalcroze teaching practices.
• Ability to accompany on the piano/guitar for performances.
• Classroom or one-to-one teaching experience.
• Experience of working with children or young people in teaching/leadership.
• Experience of leading music workshops.
• Experience of working with children with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Teach keyboard and violin in small groups (up to 5) and 1:1 lessons with Grade 6 level minimum.
• Weekly teaching during school hours (9am-3:30pm term time).
• 1 hour Music Club from 3:20pm-4:20pm.
• Permanent placement in Sing Education primary schools.
• Teach 1-5 days per week across Greater London, Slough, Kent and North Yorkshire.
• Attend Sing Education training and induction sessions; uphold safeguarding and DBS requirements.
