A leading company is seeking a marketing consultant to enhance the Future of the Past project. This role focuses on engaging young audiences with local heritage sites through innovative marketing strategies. The project offers an exciting opportunity to shape how these venues connect with the community. Applicants should have a strong background in heritage marketing and digital strategies, with a commitment to accessibility.
The successful candidate will aid in the promotion and development of the Future of the Past project, dedicated to connecting young people with heritage sites across Lincolnshire to secure their future.
Job Description
Lincolnshire’s heritage is rich and diverse, with a variety of heritage sites that offer valuable opportunities to explore and share stories from the past. Many of these sites already have established educational programs that cater to young people, particularly those visiting as part of their formal education. However, some venues recognise the need for improvement in attracting and engaging young people.
These heritage sites face a growing challenge: to remain relevant, they must adapt to the interests and needs of young people and families. If these venues fail to evolve, the sustainability of the heritage they protect could be at risk.
The three-year Future of the Past project aims to address this challenge by involving groups of young people, aged 11-25, in six heritage sites across the County. These young people are working alongside site staff, with support from arts and heritage specialists, to reinterpret Lincolnshire’s history through a youth perspective. The goal is to make the sites more engaging and relevant, not only for young people but also for families and other visitors.
The successful consultant or company will join the project at an exciting stage – at the beginning of its second year. SoundLincs is seeking an experienced marketing consultant or agency to collaborate with the six heritage venues involved in the project. The primary focus will be to develop and enhance the marketing strategies for these venues, making them more appealing and accessible to young people, families, and the wider public.
