Job summary

Language Empire is recruiting freelance Farsi interpreters and translators in Wakefield. The role involves work across NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public/private organisations.

Interpreters must be fluent in English and another language, with the right to work in the UK and 21+ years old. DPSI/CIOL/NRPSI qualifications are advantageous, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Applicants must be aged 21 or over.
• Formal qualifications such as DPSI or equivalent are preferred.
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services.
• Check understanding after each sentence with non-English speakers.
• Perform conference, consecutive and public service interpreting.
• Handle highly confidential information with discretion.
• Liaise between service users and service providers.

Skills

Fluent English + another language

Education

Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)

Community Interpreting

NRPSI/CIOL/ITI registered (advantageous)

Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
