Lumos is seeking an Event Assistant for freelance, on-site work in Cambridge. This role focuses on guest welcome, front‑of‑house operations, and supporting the Event Manager to ensure concerts run smoothly.

Shifts are Fridays and Saturdays, with paid onboarding and training, including a training shift. Ideal candidates are confident with the public, presentation‑minded, and able to work in a live music atmosphere.

• Confident interacting with the public in live settings.
• Warm, professional communication with guests.
• Takes pride in appearance and presentation.
• Remains calm, polite and solutions-focused under pressure.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with event staff.
• Holds a full UK driving licence; driving preferred or car-sharing possible.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly on arrival and assist with ticket checking and guest lists.
• Direct guests to seats and answer general questions about the evening.
• Support audience flow before, during and after the performance.
• Assist Event Manager with non-technical event setup and seating adjustments.
• Monitor audience areas and assist with orderly guest exits at event end.
• Maintain a clean, organized front‑of‑house area and support team members.
