Your company
We are working with a small Building Services Practice based in Kent looking to hire an Electrical Design Engineer on a Freelance basis. Set up a couple of years ago by two Directors who wanted to move from a larger business and start up on their own. They have now expanded to 5 and are winning plenty of work going into the New Year. They work across sectors, but the majority of their current work comes from commercial fit-out work and a few larger residential developments.
Your new role
You will need to be working as a stand-alone Senior Engineer and be able to manage a project from start to finish. You will have worked ideally within the commercial sector on either CAT A or CAT B projects, completing detailed design work. You will have the backup from a Senior BIM / REVIT Technician, but you will need to complete your own designs single-handed. The position can be offered outside IR-35 into a Limited company and the work can be completed remotely with the occasional meeting on-site to oversee contractors.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a contract Engineer capable of completing detailed designs working with contractors in the commercial sector. Ideally, some residential experience but not essential. Ideally, to work outside IR-35 you will use your own licenses and equipment.
What you'll get in return
A competitive hourly rate for a remote role. This will be a 4-6 month contract but likely to be extended as more work comes through. They have a great company culture and ethos and could be a longer-term contract option for the right engineer.
