Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Billy Tannery Limited in the UK seeks a multi-disciplinary freelance designer to own our brand output across channels—graphic design, illustration, motion, print, packaging and ecommerce. You’ll work with a community of creatives, guided by our brand principles—Honest & Hypertraceable, Bold Quirk, and Sensory & Emotive—while staying true to our rural roots.
This is a remote role with occasional studio time in Hammersmith.
Billy Tannery is a new kind of leather company. We turn previously overlooked food by-products into leather that's full of natural character. From our microtannery in the British countryside we're charting a new course for the leather industry. One with a focus on traceability, transparency and creativity. We're a small but diverse brand with both consumer and trade channels. From leather bags and accessories to large bespoke projects for hotels and restaurants, we everything is made here in the UK.
We're looking for a multi-disciplinary creative and designer to join our team on an ongoing freelance basis. Someone to take ownership of our brand's output across our channels. This might include graphic design, illustration, motion across social, print, packaging, ecommerce and more. We work with a community of amazing freelance videographers, illustrators and marketers, but now we need a designer to take things to the next level.
We have a strong sense of who we are as a brand, with detailed brand guidelines, but now it's time to put this into action. We have three core brand principles: 1) Honest & Hypertraceable, 2) Bold Quirk and 3) Sensory & Emotive. Overall we are a contemporary brand, but always stay true to our rural roots.
We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in our world, the contemporary British countryside, but as a remote role you could be based anywhere. However being close enough to London to occasionally come into our Hammersmith studio is a plus.
We aren't fussy about experience level, but very fussy about finding someone who gets the brand and can run with it without hand-holding.
Due to the volume of applications for this role, it unfortunately won't be possible to reply to them all. We are certainly reading them all and looking at portfolios, but please be extra clear to demonstrate how you would be a good fit for Billy Tannery.
