Job summary

Language Empire is actively recruiting freelance Chinese Cantonese interpreters and translators in Sheffield to work across NHS, Local Authorities, Police, and other organisations. This self-employed role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work from home or on-site in various public and private settings.

Responsibilities include interpreting with accuracy, liaising between service users and providers, and handling confidential information.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and another language required.
• Right to work in the UK required.
• Ages 21+.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for legal, health, and local government services.
• Check understanding after each sentence.
• Handle conference, consecutive and public service interpreting.

Skills

Education

DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting)

CIOL/ITI registration
