The Breastfeeding Network is starting a 12-week Helper course in May to train local parents in the community to increase their knowledge around infant feeding and to be able to support their peers in Southwark with breastfeeding and other feeding-related queries. Two-hour sessions will be held weekly in person in Peckham, with some work completed online between sessions.
Upon completing this training, you would be qualified and insured to voluntarily support parents at drop-in sessions alongside our friendly team of paid staff and healthcare professionals (we currently have 4 a week throughout the borough) or in the local hospital. The choice is yours.
The Breastfeeding Network will fund your training, provide a free creche place for children who need it whilst you attend the course, and offer 2 years of complimentary BfN membership, which includes your DBS check.
