We've made huge investments into our underwriting, pricing, data and technology capabilities along with our 4Cs ways of working, building a culture that provides the right environment for our colleagues to build careers, contribute and be who they are - with some fun along the way!

Working in Technical Underwriting in Hastings Direct will involve finding fraudulent and the riskiest drivers, looking to avoid them so we can provide a fairer price to the good drivers. In Fraud Analytics we are committed to identifying fraud, from customers inputting incorrect information to receive a lower price to malicious fraud like ghost broking. Fraudsters are continually evolving tactics to evade detection so we are a curious team and the successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, looking for unusual or suspicious behaviour in large quantities of data. The field is extremely rewarding as you can be confident you are on the front line of protecting the company from fraud and helping honest customers by keeping their premiums lower.

Collaborative working is at the core of what we do because it's our people that make the business successful - our Pricing, Data and Analytics teams hold a breadth of experience to learn from, to support and develop you. You will have access to the cutting edge of technology to analyse data and we encourage an inquisitive mind to get the most from the large amount of data we hold.

  • You'll be working with all Hastings brands and products, obtaining a vast knowledge of our data landscape and using this to protect the business at every fraud opportunity.
  • End-to-end ownership of your work, sharing your ideas at senior leadership level and making real change.
