Newcastle Building Society is seeking a Financial Crime Systems Specialist to manage, optimize and enhance our core financial crime technology systems and controls. This hands-on role covers day-to-day administration, configuration, performance tuning and building detection rules to reduce false positives while protecting customers.

You will collaborate with teams across Financial Crime, Operations, Risk, Technology and Change to strengthen controls and ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Crime, Fraud, AML or Compliance environments.
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration, configuration and performance of financial crime systems.
• Build and refine detection rules to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.
• Analyse alert volumes and outcomes to optimise controls.
• Lead testing activities and coordinate system changes with stakeholder teams.
• Ensure systems remain compliant and audit-ready with evidence of control effectiveness.
