Fractional Strategic Head of Finance – Visual Effects Business – 1 Day per Week (Remote)

Harmonic is working exclusively with one of London’s most innovative visual effects companies. They are entering a rapid scale-up phase and are seeking a Fractional Head of Finance to join the team. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to influence the financial and strategic direction of a high-growth creative business, working one day per week.

The Client

An exciting, founder-led visual effects company, renowned for industry awards and high-quality work. They have ambitious growth plans and need a Head of Finance to support their strategic expansion.

The Role

You will lead the finance strategy, support sustainable growth, and act as a key advisor to the Founder. Your role includes financial planning, insights to influence decisions, managing forecasting processes, financial models, and providing strategic support across the business. A strong technical accounting focus will be essential to support operations at a high level.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Partner with the Founder to support planning and growth initiatives
2. Deliver financial analysis and insights to enhance performance
3. Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans
4. Provide strategic input on new investments and evaluate growth opportunities and risks
5. Perform high-level technical accounting
6. Support fundraising efforts and investor relations
7. Review and advise on commercial contracts and strategic partnerships

Essential Experience:

• Proven success in a senior finance leadership role within a creative or media environment
• Strong strategic and commercial thinking skills, with cross-functional collaboration experience
• Deep expertise in financial operations, planning, budgeting, and reporting
• Ability to operate independently as the finance expert in a small team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong technical accounting skills
