Job description

Are you a skilled Firmware Engineer with a passion for innovation in the defence and aerospace sector? At ALTEN UK, we are seeking talented engineers to support high-impact projects across various programs in the UK. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge FPGA architectures and technologies, shaping solutions that make a real difference. Location: Flexible within the UK.
Hybrid working model based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement complex designs using FPGA development tools such as Vivado, Diamond, Radiant, Vitis, or Propel.
  • Design digital electronics using hardware development languages like VHDL or System Verilog.
  • Architect and verify test benches using VHDL, System Verilog, or C++, with advanced methodologies such as OSVVM/UVVM or UVM.
  • Simulate designs using tools like Siemens ModelSim or QuestaSim.
  • Work with advanced communication and interface technologies, including PCIe, Ethernet, Serial Comms, AXI4, and CameraLink.
  • Ensure compliance with process assurance standards, such as DO254, IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and OpenCPI.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with FPGA architectures, including AMD/Xilinx and Lattice.
  • Proficiency with FPGA development tools and scripting languages like TCL.
  • Deep understanding of verification methodologies and simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with interface technologies and standards, including JESD204, SMPTE, and CameraLink.
  • Experience with algorithm development and digital electronic design.
  • Knowledge of process assurance and cyber security standards.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Sole British citizenship
  • Eligible for SC Clearance.
