Job summary

Plextek, based near Cambridge, seeks an experienced FPGA engineer to design and implement FPGA/DSP solutions for radar, communications and sensing. The role emphasizes solid DSP fundamentals, collaboration across hardware, software and systems teams, and adaptability to evolving customer requirements.

Proficiency with HDL and the AMD Vivado toolchain is essential; OpenCPI/STICS/SOSA experience is a plus, with potential work on Zynq devices in a multidisciplinary consultancy setting.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in digital signal processing is required.
• Experience with radar, communications or sensing applications is advantageous.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into FPGA-based implementations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality FPGA/DSP designs and implementations with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and project planning.
• Engage with clients on technical scoping discussions and feasibility.
• Potentially lead and mentor junior colleagues.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and systems engineers across projects.
• Identify and raise technical risks in a timely manner.
• Document progress and maintain technical documentation.
