Overview

Nomad Foods is a leading frozen foods company building a global portfolio of best-in-class food companies and brands within the frozen category and across the broader food sector. Nomad produces, markets and distributes brands in 14 countries and has the leading market share in Western Europe. The company's portfolio of leading frozen food brands includes Birdseye, Iglo, Findus, Goodfellas, Aunt Bessie, La Cocinera and Lutosa.

The Nomad finance team is also going through a period of transformation to deliver its finance manifesto and implement step change improvements to the operating of the finance function across the business.

Working within the Group FP&A team, this is a dynamic role leading the coordination of the financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics processes for the total group. The FP&A Manager will be responsible for the ownership of analytical standards for reporting and modelling KPIs and as a key financial liaison. In addition, it will involve preparation (and some presentation) of key materials for Exec and Board, supplemented by analytical support for the business.

This is a high-profile role, partnering FP&A counterparts across the business, senior Finance Management and external auditors, to ensure an efficient, reliable and accurate process. It therefore represents an excellent opportunity for a strong individual to make an impact and build their profile.

Responsibilities
  • Lead coordination of the financial planning and forecasting processes, covering month end and the rolling monthly forecast. This includes analysis of key KPIs
  • Preparing timely, comprehensive, and insightful commentary on actual performance and forecast for use by the Board and Executive teams, drawing out key issues for discussion
  • Ensure the Group FP&A Sarbanes-Oxley controls are completed effectively, seeking to streamline control processes where possible
  • Driving continuous improvement into the forecasting systems, processes, and analysis. Supporting and advocating strong data governance within the wider finance community
  • Input to the broader FP&A sharing network, to identify and share best practice
  • Line management of FP&A Graduate (PDP, objective setting, coaching etc)
  • Ad hoc analytical support as driven by the needs of the business, including the use of Cloud Analytics
  • Running “what-if” scenarios using insight and critical thinking to evaluate and recommend solution
  • Mindset to deliver simplification, standardisation, and automation of reporting & processes across the business
Qualifications

Essential

  • A degree level candidate
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent
  • Experience with planning systems and reporting technology, including with business intelligence tools and developing data visualisations
  • Able to work under time pressure and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Strong excel skills and a wider interest in systems
  • Ability to constructively challenge assumptions and thinking
  • Knowledge of commercial, financial and operational reporting
  • Consolidation and reporting experience on systems
  • Motivated self-starter - able to identify improvement ideas (challenge the status quo) and follow up on delivering these.
  • Strong communication and written skills with the ability
  • The ability to communicate with people at all levels in both financial and non-financial management, distilling detailed information down into key clear messages.
  • A persuasive manner and the ability to exert influence to drive impact across the function
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple user site

Desirable

  • SAP ECC (FI–CO) experience or similar
  • String analytical and forecasting abilities
  • Experience of modelling skills
  • Previous FMCG experience desirable
  • SOX or other control environment experience
  • BPC Experience Advantageous
