FP&A Manager
Location: Hybrid (UK-based) | Considering candidates across Belfast, UK & Manila, PH

At Pearson, we’re reimagining how people learn – everywhere, every day. Join us as a FP&A Manager within our School Qualifications team and help drive high-quality financial decision-making across one of our most important education business areas.
You’ll lead a team of 6–8 finance professionals, supporting the delivery of strategic plans, operational budgets, and insightful reporting. You’ll work closely with the Business Planning Manager and senior stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, clarity and accountability across all financial activities — while also guiding your team through ongoing business transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
Manage monthly reporting, variance analysis, and financial modelling
Provide expert input into budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning cycles
Review and assure project and product accounting in line with policy
Deliver financial insights that support risk assessment and commercial decision-making
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data quality and timely submissions
Support change initiatives and help drive continuous improvement
Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Essential skills & experience:
Experience in a finance leadership or business partnering role
Recognised professional accounting qualification (or equivalent experience)
Strong experience in financial control, reporting and planning
Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge (ERP – Oracle preferred)
Ability to prioritise under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Proven people management and coaching experience
Highly analytical, detail-oriented and solution-driven
Desirable:
Experience in a multinational or matrixed business environment
Exposure to change management or international projects
Strong understanding of business models, KPIs and performance drivers
Experience using data and reporting tools to drive operational efficiency
